Trademark Panels, American Merchants Union Express Company Building, 1872 These large, semicircular, wood or composite panels in high relief were of the firm's trademark: a giant bulldog defending two safes. The trademark panels were used on the wall vaults and the interior of the Chicago building, which was demolished in 1930. The company is now known as American Express.
